Spire’s 2025 Mission Trip to Nepal

In January 2025, Dr Chee Kin Ghee from Spire hand volunteered with Karuna Medical International in a 3-day charity medical camp. Held in the Arughat Municipality in Gorkha, Nepal, the team comprised of 6 doctors, 28 volunteers (nurses, TCM masters, and non-medical volunteers from Singapore), local volunteers from the Kyimolung foundation Nepal, staff at the Arughat hospital, and local Nepalese police and army.

Over the 3 days, the team attended to 1163 patients, including 152 surgeries and over 560 TCM treatments.

Dr Chee assisted in many surgeries, including excisions of ganglions, lipomas, warts and small tumours. Notably, a little boy had reduced hand movement due to scarring from burns. Dr Chee operated on his palm to clear the scar tissues, and restored hand movement.

This medical camp touched many lives and was even published in the Nepalese newspaper.

In Spire, we care for the community, whether at home or abroad, and will continue to provide healthcare for the greater good.
